This might come at odds with the fielding of the Dom on October, but the units used by the Black Tri Stars weren't deployed until early November and might be the first units with that equipment, specially if we consider Mark's theory on two separate early Dom models, the ground developed MS-09A (identical to the YMS-09) and the space developed MS-09B, which is the first version of the Dom with a scattering beam gun. According to Mark's timeline, Yuu Kajima becomes the pilot of the BD-1 by November 29th, meaning that the Hygoggs might have been first deployed around mid or late November, which in turn means that Zeon must have obtained e-cap technology before that in order to incorporate it into their MS. The earliest deployment I can think of right now is before Yuu Kajima becomes the pilot of the BD-1, when a group of Hygoggs attack the base where he and his unit had just received RGM-79Ds. In a possibly related note, I was also wondering if California Base might have obtained e-cap technology earlier than the Zeon space forces, given the incorporation of this technology on the MSM-07E and MSM-03C, particuarly the Hygogg which seems to have been mass produced to some extent, given the deployment of several units in Gundam 0080 and on the Blue Destiny manga and videogames. Is there any truth behind the Pezun Dowadge having that weapon? In this version, the beam gun seem to work like a GM's beam spray gun, which sounds likely given that the Dom lacks higher generator output for powering a more powerful and longer ranged beam weapon. Why was it changed into a blinding flash later on?Īlso, I had previously heard that the MS-10 Pezun Dowadge was equipped with that weapon in some videogames and recently ago it surfaced once more as such in the Gundam Battle Operation PS3 game: I was wondering about the Dom's chest beam gun, as depicted in the original TV:
